Interseroh recycling for environmental and climate protection
The primary goal of the German Packaging Ordinance is to avoid and/or reduce packaging wastes. Packaging that is nevertheless produced has to be returned for a climate and resource-friendly disposal or recycling.
Interseroh Dual System: saves CO2 through recycling!
In a recent study the Fraunhofer-Institute UMSICHT calculated the CO2-savings for the Interseroh Dual System based on 2010 data. The study compares the CO2 emissions during the secondary production process of the material flows for sales packaging from the materials lightweight packaging, glass and paper/cardboard/board with those of the manufacturing processes from primary raw materials.
The result: the Interseroh Dual System makes a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection through packaging recycling – with a saving of 270,000 t CO2 per year. If you wanted to bond the same amount of CO2 you would need a forest covering an area of about 268 km² - roughly the size of the city of Erfurt.

Register you sales packaging for Interseroh recycling
The Packaging Ordinance requires that your sales packaging which could reach final consumers has to be registered in a Dual System, and thus recycled in a climate-friendly way.
